What is a Flow Restrictor and how often does it need to be replaced?

The Chlorine Genie comes standard with a 350ml Flow Restrictor (Ultimate Water also sells a 250ml Flow Restrictor) - this limits the total water flowing through the unit to 350ml per minute. The Flow Restrictor is attached to the RO Cartridge and regulates the amount of water that flows into the chlorine mixing chamber. The Flow Restrictor has compression fittings, so it does NOT use brass inserts.
